Dr. Dave's strongest principle in this Memorial Day weekend show is that technology matters when it gives people more control of their limited time, not merely when it supplies more entertainment. A client story makes the lesson concrete: a couple prepared to buy another laptop, but the real problem was more than sixty open browser tabs, so new hardware would only have recreated the same frustration. Dr. Dave also explains that he prepares for radio by living his life and almost automatically harvesting lessons from the problems people bring him. The brothers look backward to Mosaic and forward to paper-thin displays, animated car skins and visual camouflage, while repeatedly insisting that neither the cloud nor any other fashionable technology is automatically good or bad.
