Evil Steve closes the show by wishing Dr. Dave's son Nick a happy birthday and praising his effort in a rugby game the night before. Earlier, Dr. Dave remembers the towering, Great-Dane-raising father of a childhood friend repeatedly asking whether the boys believed everything they read; decades later, Dr. Dave recognizes the lesson in every new online claim and warns that anything posted can escape its promised limits. Facebook becomes a bittersweet family news wire, fake support callers bring out Dr. Dave's blunt protective side, and Microsoft's fortieth anniversary leads him to argue that technological power must be used safely, morally and for the benefit of as many people as possible. A substantial interview with Vivaldi founder Jon von Tetzchner also preserves a firsthand account of building a browser for users with strong opinions and advanced needs.
