Dr. Dave and Gina’s first hot-air-balloon flight explains the missing live show a week earlier and gives the brothers a joyful personal story about curiosity, burners close to Dr. Dave’s head and an initiation prank that left Gina distinctly unimpressed. The twenty-fifth anniversary of Windows lets Dr. Dave trace the platform from early uncertainty through networking, Windows 95, XP, Vista and Windows 7, with memories from broadcasts recorded when its success was far from inevitable. He also reports candidly on a three-month attempt to live almost entirely through cloud services: he committed to adapting, but returned because the tools still did not fit the way he actually organized work. As Christmas merchandise appears earlier each year, Dr. Dave decides to stop resisting and enjoy the season sooner, asking what harm can come from being nicer and feeling better for a few extra weeks.
