Randy’s response to Kelly’s death continues to gather momentum, and Dr. Dave and Evil Steve describe the charity ride as something remarkably positive growing from a devastating loss. Dr. Dave also explains why recent shows have fewer guests: most pitches are rehearsed, clichéd product promotion, and he would rather bring listeners something that genuinely matters; a story about an arrogant printer executive from the early program illustrates the difference. A difficult data-recovery transfer gives him another occasion to admit that a practical workaround can succeed even when the underlying cause remains unknown. The closing net-neutrality discussion leads to a broader philosophy that people instinctively try to organize away disorder, even though independent thinkers and imperfect environments often produce the most creative technology.
