March 21, 2009

The March 21 show combines a vivid 2009 technology snapshot with several of Dr. Dave's clearest working principles. He judges Windows 7 against the disappointment of Vista, insists that products must work for ordinary people rather than only experts and explains why long-term, real-world testing matters more than claims. A data-recovery story becomes a warning to stop when uncertain rather than overwrite irreplaceable files, while a caller's hardware question shows Dr. Dave declining to guess without the exact manufacturer and model. Dr. Dave also describes the Truth Blog as the place where his constant research into politics, economics and everyday events becomes information he believes has checked out, and the show closes by comparing the major smartphone platforms just before the iPhone 3.0 and Palm Pre era.
