April 28, 2007

A large laptop and heavy briefcase send Dr. Dave and Evil Steve back to the days when they carried buckets of tennis-court material in the heat, a vivid personal memory shaped by their easy teasing. They delight in the report of a father and daughter acquiring a retired Sea Harrier through eBay, while a student's operating-system question lets Dr. Dave explain that the right computer must fit the people and professional environment around it. When listener Dan contributes a possibility Dr. Dave had missed, Dr. Dave says listening to other people is how Dr. Dave became Dr. Dave. A separate caller problem becomes an especially revealing troubleshooting story: Dr. Dave openly admits he is stumped, takes time during the break to think and returns with a possible answer.
