Mistaken late night calls and weekly messages intended for the singer Dr. Dave Mason give Dr. Dave and Evil Steve another chance to establish who the real Computer Talk host is, and they explain that clients began calling him the computer doctor after he rescued machines, data and a business. Listener Carl challenges Dr. Dave’s earlier warnings about pirated software and a faulty firewall release, prompting Dr. Dave to distinguish broad conclusions from warning listeners when a recurring problem becomes a meaningful trend. The show reviews Opera 9, Windows Genuine Advantage, Google’s reported fiber purchases, email spoofing and several repair calls, while the existing rolling archive becomes a way for listeners to check exactly what was said. Dr. Dave’s clearest professional rule is that sponsors may buy advertisements but cannot buy a recommendation, which must be earned by producing a quality product and continuing to deserve trust.
